One the occasion of Guruji Dr.Vedavyas's Aradhana and completing  8 years of Satsang in Fremont, California, YBA organized  a Maha Satsang  on October 7th, 2012.  Satsang in California started on August 4, 2004. The Satsang which started with just 4 families has now increased to participation of 72 families. The unity and strength of the Satsang has grown strong over the years. The benefits of it are too many to name.

The Maha Satsang was done in the Satynarayana temple located in Milpitas city. The whole environment of the temple fully charged with very powerful vibrations after the Satsang. As part of the program,  Vishnu Sahasranama  chanting, Bhajans and chanting of ‘Narayanaya Ashtaakshara’.

Three respected speakers spoke on the occasion. The three guest speakers were honored.  First, Madhu Prakhya ji, a well-known astrologer and Vedic scholar in Silicon Valley, spoke. He explained Vedic concepts of God, the omnipresent god, he told us in such simple words that even little kids and youngsters understood these concepts. The second speaker was Dr. Vankamaamidi Nageswara Shastri ji   from Halifax, in the state of Novascotia in Canada.  He was pleased to see and listen to the youngsters who conducted themselves during the Satsang.  He talked to a few students. The last speaker Sri Venkatrama Shastri ji was very impressive, he spoke about  Guruji Dr. Vedavyas. His words were so touching that for many devotees, tears rolled down as memories of Sri Guruji were recalled to their minds. After the function Maha Prasadam was distributed to all.

Festivals Diary 2012

Yoga Brotherhood of America as part of its ongoing effort to promote Vedic Sciences has come up with a unique, one of its kind,Festival Diary for 2012. Many of us (especially the younger generation) are unaware of the significance of all our festivals, when they have to celebrated etc. Since we are outside of India it is more important for us to know when a festival has to be celebrated. It is not always the same day that it is celebrated in India. It is based on the local Panchang (Hindu Calendar). We at Yoga Brotherhood to educate this aspect have compiled all this information in the form of Diary. This Diary contains

  • Panchang Details for America West Coast
  • Over 100 Festivals celebrated by different regions in India
  • When the Festivals can be celebrated in US
  • Describes significance of over 15 festivals
  • Introduces the basics of Hindu Calendar System
Join us to in the effort to preserve and understand our culture better. Get the diary, talk about it, talk about us and spread the word!!Take this knowledge to your kids. Encourage them in the lost art of writing a diary.
